Client: NHV Helicopters Ltd

Architect: Halliday Fraser Munro

Project value: £50M

Project team: Richard Mackenzie

NHV opened its Aberdeen base in 2015 and its site has now become NHV’s largest flying unit with a fleet of 7 aircrafts. The NHV Aberdeen heliport complex consists of a 2,400m² hangar attached to NHV offices, as well as a passenger terminal with check in, X-ray, security, safety equipment storage, and safety briefing rooms. The ground floor of the complex is composed of a general waiting area whereas the upper floor contains of a dedicated passenger lounge.

RMP was commissioned to undertake the noise impact assessment for planning and CAA accreditation prior to the extension of the NHV heliport. Advice was also provided on the internal acoustic design. The site noise mitigation measures included a specification of a substantial GRAMM acoustic barrier.
