The Western Isles School Project comprised the renewal of a secondary school and four primary schools in the Outer Hebrides. In addition an all-through school has been substantially refurbished and extended. The schools are located on the Islands of Lewis, Harris, Benbecula and South Uist and include:

Balivanich Primary School, Isle of Benbecula
Bayble Primary School, Isle of Lewis
Sir E Scott School Primary School, Isle of Harris
Daliburgh School, Isle of South Uist
Westside Primary School, Isle of Lewis
Nicolson Institute, Isle of Lewis

RMP provided full acoustic design services for the six new and refurbished schools. The schools have each secured BREEAM Excellent accreditation, one of the most comprehensive and widely recognised measures of a building’s environmental performance.
