Whisky Distilleries, Scotland

Clients: Diageo, Chivas Brothers, Rarer Scotch Whisky Ltd

Project team: Richard Mackenzie, Russell Macdonald, Clement Luciani, Mark Irish

RMP has undertaken noise impact assessments on many of the famous Scottish distilleries from the Borders to the Isles. The projects ranged from new built distilleries to the extension of existing buildings and distilleries. Many of the projects RMP has been involved in also included the installation of operational plants such as external water tanks, boiler plants, and cooling towers and their impact on local communities.

RMP has built a wealth of acoustic knowledge on noise measurements unique to distilleries where specific plant and equipment can be found, in Still Rooms and Tun Rooms for instance.

RMP is also experienced in providing noise mitigation recommendations to reduce noise breakout from Distilleries (such as from ventilation louvres and cooling towers), in accordance with BS 4142, Noise Rating curves and BS8223 depending on the Local Authority.
