Joining RMP in July 2022, Murat has over twenty-five years of combined experience in acoustic consultancy, site supervision, sound recording studio design, and sound recording.
Graduated with an upper second-class BEng (Hons) degree in General Engineering from The Open University and an MSc degree in Environmental Acoustics from South Bank University (London), Murat has also developed his technical and practical knowledge in the field of audio and acoustics by gaining the diploma in Audio Engineering from School of Audio Engineering (London), while achieving the top placement in the final exams and practical. In addition to this, Murat was awarded the Institute of Acoustics’ Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
Following a successful career working as a Tonmeister in İstanbul, Murat started working as an acoustician for studio design projects in both the UK and Turkey, Murat then was subcontracted by Building Design Partnership as the Site Acoustician to work on a large Culture and Congress Centre project in İstanbul. Afterwards, he was appointed as the Acoustician for a new recording studio design project in İstanbul by another well-known Turkish musician/singer and an ex-member of the Turkish Parliament. Later, he joined Sound Research Laboratories as a Senior Acoustic Consultant based in their Manchester office where he later became a Team Leader being responsible for a team of four consultants. Over the years, Murat has developed his knowledge of acoustic consultancy projects in a variety of roles; at Hunter Acoustics in South Wales, at Hoare Lea in their Bristol office as an Executive Acoustic Consultant, and at Atkins as a Senior Acoustic Consultant and Principal Acoustic Consultant. Murat has experience of working as a Freelance Acoustician as well.
