ANC Registered Sound Insulation Tester and EAS accredited Air Tightness Tester
Having graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with honours in Popular Music, Danny previously worked as a live sound & recording engineer and musician. Danny started with RMP in January 2022 and has successfully completed the IOA’s Post Graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control for which he was awarded the ‘2021/2022 IOA Diploma Prize’. His Diploma project on “Road Traffic Noise and the ‘New Normal’: An Investigation into Road Traffic Noise Levels in Scotland Following the Covid-19 Pandemic” was subsequently featured as the cover article of the August 2023 IOA’s Acoustics Bulletin.
Aside from his work, Danny is a talented drummer, and he can be heard playing in local wedding bands at the weekend. Danny enjoys all things football, playing in the Edinburgh Futsal League each week, and an avid Formula 1 fan.

Sound Insulation Testing
Danny regularly undertakes sound insulation testing throughout the UK for a variety of projects including: commercial (schools, hotels, health centres) completion testing, façade insulation measurements, pre-refurbishment tests for conversions, insulation assessments for upgrades to pubs and clubs as well as completion testing for dwellings under ISO 140, Approved Document E of the England and Wales Building Regulations, Code for Sustainable Homes and Section 5-Noise of Scottish Technical Standards.
Air Tightness Testing
Danny is Level 1 accredited by Elmhurst Airtightness Testing Scheme (EAS) to undertake Air Tightness Testing and regularly undertakes both residential and commercial air permeability tests.
Design
Danny has participated in multiple small-scale design projects such as office refurbishments, residential conversions, or acoustic complaint investigations. Danny can also undertake acoustic modelling of spaces using ODEON ray-tracing software and acoustic modelling of construction details using INSUL.
Environmental Noise Impact Assessment and Industrial Noise Control
Danny has also undertaken measurements and noise impact assessments for a range of noise sources to standards such as; BS:4142, BS:8233, inaudibility, CRTN and CRN.
