Dale joined RMP in 2019 after working in the industry for eight years, undertaking a wide variety of building compliance testing throughout Scotland. Working on pre- and post-completion projects in both the commercial and domestic sectors. Dale brings a specialist focus in air tightness testing and in-depth performance-based diagnostics, alongside sound insulation testing.
Previously BINDT, ATTMA and iATS registered, Dale is currently a level 2 EAS accredited air tightness tester, a level 1 & 2 EAS auditor as well as being ANC Part E and Section 5 Registration Scheme registered Sound Insulation Tester.
Dale is obsessed with all things aquatic and can be found either breeding and rearing rare tropical fish or floating on a remote Scottish loch on his kayak trying to catch them (different fish all be it).

Air Tightness Testing
Dale specialises in air tightness testing and performance-based diagnostics across residential, Passivhaus, commercial and complex multi-zone buildings. A Level 2 accredited air tightness tester under the Elmhurst Airtightness Scheme with over 16 years’ experience in airtightness testing, Dale operates in accordance with ATTMA TSL1–4 methodologies, undertaking non-standard pressure boundary testing, bespoke multi-fan configurations and balanced pressure strategies.
His work extends beyond basic compliance testing, combining adaptive on-site problem solving with clear technical reporting and practical remedial guidance to support both regulatory compliance and real-world building performance.
In addition to site testing, Dale undertakes airtightness-focused design and drawing reviews, supporting project teams at early stages to identify continuity risks, pressure boundary weaknesses and buildability issues before construction. This reduces remedial risk, improves build quality and supports more predictable airtightness outcomes on site.
Dale has delivered airtightness testing and consultancy support on a wide range of edge-case, high-profile and technically challenging projects, including University Hospital Monklands, Tynecastle Stadium, Falkland Sheriff Court, and complex commercial developments in remote and island locations, often requiring specialist test strategy and logistical planning. These projects have involved complex pressure boundaries, live operational constraints and non-standard building forms requiring advanced testing approaches and clear compliance reporting.
Sound Insulation Testing
Dale regularly undertakes sound insulation testing throughout the UK for a variety of projects including commercial (schools, hotels, health centres) completion testing, pre-refurbishment testing for conversions under Section 5 – Noise of the Scottish Technical Standards.
